Procession of the SpeciesWe were so happy to be here for Olympia's annual Procession of the Species. This is their 15th year. Niko's first parade and Kobe's second. This one will be hard to top. It was unforgettable and full of spirit. The procession doesn't allow for anything motorized, no words, etc. etc. (www.procession.org). You may have one in your town now, if so, it all started here. Headed downtown. You can see the capitol in the background. Over the bridge, down by the bay...
The sidewalks were covered in chalk drawings by kids and adults. Incredible!
Finally, here it comes!
This fish could wag its tail. Wonder if the seal (in the bay) that poked its head out at us on the way back to the car heard there was a big fish in the nearby area?
ALL ages participate.
Here we are:
Kobe has been giving high fives to big, furry animals since the moose mascot incident last summer. Here he is again. He even ran out there by himself!
The grand finale was a samba group dressed as zebras. Everyone was high from the event at the end and Kobe seemed mesmerized by the whole thing. Can't wait for next year!
